   The company runs on software the founding team builds itself, including
   production AI systems that parse carrier emails and shipping documents into
   structured operational data.

2) Trimtab AIS (2026–present) — builder. A free, open MCP server giving AI agents
   machine-readable ship & port truth: https://ais.trimtabist.com (endpoint
   /mcp; JSON-RPC per the Model Context Protocol, streamable HTTP).
   Data: continuously own-recorded terrestrial AIS across 15 zones — 8 US container
   gateways (LA/Long Beach, NY-NJ, Savannah, Houston, Charleston, Norfolk, Oakland,
   Seattle-Tacoma) plus Indian and transshipment zones (Chennai partial; JNPT,
   Mundra, Pipavav, Hazira, Vizhinjam, Colombo recorded but with little terrestrial
   receiver coverage at present). A deterministic event detector derives vessel
   states (underway / anchored / moored) and events (anchor start/end, berth
   start/end with terminal attribution, departures, and semantic contradictions —
   e.g. vessels declaring "under way" while stationary for 30+ minutes).
   Container terminals are identified by geofences seeded from observed berthing
   positions of large container vessels. Known limits, always disclosed: terrestrial
   AIS only (no mid-ocean); archive begins 2026-07-26 with one disclosed gap
   (2026-07-26T17:20Z → 2026-07-27T12:16Z); anchored-duration figures are lower
   bounds near the start of the archive (left-censored).

## The position he argues from
The same carrier tracking event can mean different things depending on which
carrier sent it (e.g., an "arrival" that means berthed at most carriers but
at-anchor at others — a gap of hours to days). Shipping's data standardized its
format but never its meaning. His stated project: measure that gap in public,
from data anyone can verify — physics (AIS) against paperwork (carrier events).
